We’re thrilled to announce that Yabbly closed another financing round this month to grow our engineering team and boost resources for 2014. We’re humbled by support from twelve amazing investors coming in this round adding over $500K in fresh capital to our venture (taking our total capital raised to date to $1.3M).
The Yabbly Investor Team now includes the former general counsel of Facebook, former Immunex CEO, current Acxiom CPO, former C-level at 24 Hour Fitness, current VP at Nike, Global Head of People Strategy at Mckinsey, former CEO of Qpass, former CEO of NetConversions, Wilson Sonsini, and execs from Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. We’re also pleased to announce that Ben Huh, CEO of Cheezburger Networks, and Andy Liu, CEO of BuddyTV have joined the Yabbly Advisor Team.
Rudy Gadre, Seattle super angel and former general counsel of Facebook said ”I’ve had the opportunity to see this team, community, and product grow from an intriguing idea in early 2012 to a vibrant mobile platform for considered product decisions. It was an easy decision to follow on and lead this latest financing round.”
“Yabbly is all about the intersection of community, conversation, and product research. From a brand marketer’s point of view, that’s the bull’s eye for any next generation marketing campaign.” said Dave Song, Yabbly investor and current VP at Nike.
“What caught my attention at Yabbly was the strength of the team and the usefulness of the product. Before investing I used Yabbly to pick out a new phone. The ability to get personalized and thoughtful advice from their community in a conversational and authentic way made a big impact on my purchasing decision,” said Chase Franklin, former Qpass CEO and Seattle super angel.
“If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that thoughtful people are not satisfied with reading static (and sometimes suspicious) product reviews on the web or looking at pictures on Pinterest when they want to make a truly great shopping decision. People want to have a detailed conversation about their specific situation with thoughtful, matched people who recently made a similar purchase and are now owners.” said Tom Leung, founder and CEO of Yabbly.
As we execute on our roadmap, Yabbly’s personalized and interactive Q&A offering will get even better, more useful, and more engaging just in time for this year’s holiday shopping season. In fact, we just released V2 of our 5-star iPhone app that’s ready for download as well as a complete redesign of our desktop web app!
Other exciting developments include the launch of our Karma Sweepstakes promotion for inviting helpful friends and the Yabbly Perks program with partners Postmates and Kogeto and three other innovative product brands to be announced later which match great free products from innovative brands with the most helpful and influential Yabblers.
More stuff in the works so stay tuned!
